Giant Wolf is a Belgian band, founded in September 2024 by Jens Vanhee (guitar, vocals). The group is reinforced by Dennis Desmet (bass, vocals) and Stephan Spriet (drums). The band members are or were active in bands such as Cube, The RG’s/Scrape, Quails, Massokids, Hands of the Barmaid, etc.
Giant Wolf seeks a unique, unconventional sound that is difficult to categorize into a single genre and shuns the use of fixed styles and boundaries. The band is influenced by the sounds of bands such as Black Mountain, Built to Spill, The Smashing Pumpkins, etc., but their music always leaves room for adventure and intuition. Anything goes, as long as it feels right. The result is dynamic, layered songs that are anything but predictable.
In terms of live experience, this band has already clocked up a lot of miles. Vanhee played many shows throughout Flanders with The RG’s/Scrape, with the occasional small crossing into the Netherlands. Highlights included several appearances at Grensrock, Botanique in Brussels, and Vooruit in Ghent. He played several support slots for Mondo Generator, Black Mirrors, Feeder, and others.
