BEAR 2024

>>> BELGIAN METAL HARDCORE <<<

Ever wondered what it feels like to get smashed by a ten ton hammer?
Or witness a burning plane crash into a building…?
WE PRESENT YOU:
BEAR!

They often say pain is the ultimate catalyst for great art. With their brand new offering, “Vanta”, Antwerp – based progressive hardcore outfit BEAR have strived to push the boundaries of their sound to reflect the pain, anguish & fear that we as humans endure & experience in our daily lives.

While the focus here is primarily on suffering, they were also able to tap into the beauty that can be found within that: the simple premise of no light without darkness.

Shortly after wrapping up recording for 2020’s “Propaganda”, their first record with newly enlisted guitar player James Falck, the band were thrown a curveball nobody saw coming: Cancer. Diagnosed right after recording the album, James spent the months leading up to the release of “Propaganda” undergoing a number of surgeries, Chemotherapy, and Radiotherapy sessions, resulting in the band having to call off a number of performances as he recovered.

Then, as they geared up for the release of their brand new album; Covid reared its ugly head and put live music to a grinding halt. While watching many of their peers hang up their instruments for good, BEAR decided to press on, enduring the pandemic, cancer, failed relationships, inner frustrations, lost loved ones, and depression,journaling every harrowing event that would ultimately lead to the creation of their newest effort; Vanta. The blackest black, the darkest of all men.

> This is the sound of BEAR persevering through the darkest of times <

> Unapologetic & unrelenting <

> Where their story goes next remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure <
